The next few days will decide whether i should go for an MBA or an MS. For others, both are the ways of minting money. For me they are something more. They are going to be perhaps my highest educational qualifications, the ones that will stick to me till death and maybe even after that.

More than just a couple of letters that will follow my name, my post-graduation will symbolize my interests, skills and strengths. The most-frequently asked childhood question , 'who do you want to be when you grow up?' shall come to an end (well, atleast a temperory halt). After i complete my higher education , i will enter the corporate world as 'someone'. And with the emotional, intellectual and financial freedom that my parents provided me with, I am supposed to follow my heart and become what I always wanted to be.

All the above mentioned things dont contribute much to who do you want to become. It mostly comes from within. Not all great people read the self-help books or (auto/)biographies of other great people before they understood what they truly wanted to become. Well then, is it a matter of understanding your skills? Not necessarily. If Shah Rukh would have understood his true acting skills ,i doubt if he would've dared go further. Understanding your passions is the only way to understand the reason behind your existance. Passion is something which you cannot develop. It comes from within.

Do I have a passion? No. I dont. Then what is driving me? Maybe its the hope that I will find out my passion sometime in the future and I better be ready for it. By 'ready' I mean emotionally, physically and financially.

This is the exact point where money comes into the picture. In reply to my discussion and dilemma about MBA or MS, one of my friend asked me, 'How much money is enough for you?' Hmm.. Thats something noone had asked me before and nor did I give it a thought. Lets see.
To be financially independent and be able to support a family of four without any income, i should have atleast 4-5 Crore in my bank account. Only then, I will be financially independent.

5 Crore. That's a lot of money. I am going to need to focus and work for a few more years it seems.

P.S. " You must act out your passions before you realize them" - Sartre.

First Post

A first post is always special. Even for someone who has been blogging for a year. Maybe the chief motive behind creating a new blog was to re-live the experience of writing random thoughts and.... and nothing. Thats it.

A blog after a few posts, takes an identity. Much of it comes from the writer itself. However, such complex is human nature that after a few writings , when we look at our own blog from a third-person perspective, it looks different. Parts of it unknown, new or different from our understanding of ourselves.

Often a blog shows us hidden parts of our persona - pleasant or unpleasant. Sometimes you are embarassed at your own writing. Sometimes you are filled with joy when a feeling is visible in your blog and is purer than you expected it to be. Sometimes you don't get the response you expected AND sometimes you don't get a response at all (happens with me a lot of times :) )Well, it's all part of the game.

Thus, with the hope of expressing myself freely and preparing myself for an adventurous journey of living and loving , i begin.....
